Construction of the outer LNG tanks - 2008-2009

The LNG storage tanks will be the first to be built. The outer tanks will be made entirely of reinforced concrete with the walls being stressed to withstand the pressure of the liquid. A concrete foundation plate will first be laid before the 40-metre high walls are erected. Finally, the concrete roof will be poured onto a steel roofing structure, which will also serve as a gas-tight seal on the inside of the outer tanks. The external diameter of the concrete tanks will be about 84 metres.
