Delivery safety

The environment and safety will have high priority in every phase of every process at the terminal. The LNG carriers, jetties and unloading equipment will satisfy strict safety standards. The components used in the unloading equipment have worked excellently worldwide for more than 20 years. Before a carrier begins to unload, a detailed safety checklist is run through. The unloading arms are protected against mechanical damage and fitted with automatic valves. Pipes will be extremely well insulated to prevent the formation of gas, and vapours will be returned to the LNG carrier via a closed vapour return system. This will prevent overpressure building up in the storage tanks and a vacuum forming in the carrier’s tanks.
