Regasification and transport safety

After regasification of the LNG, the natural gas will leave the terminal via an underground pipeline connected to the existing distribution network. In principle, the existing gas transport network has sufficient capacity. Gas Transport Services (GTS), an independent pipeline operator and wholly-owned subsidiary of Gasunie, will constantly monitor the necessary capacity and adapt it as necessary. Nitrogen will not be admixed at the terminal but at Gasunie’s control station in Pernis. Natural gas’s characteristic odour will be added only when the gas leaves the main transport network and enters the regional transport network.
